Hobbies and other Interests
Figured I would share a few other things that I find fun and fascinating :).
Hiking/ Backpacking/ Camping
Hiking is definitely my #1 favorite way to be outdoors. It gives me a chance to take a leisurely stroll or a chance to really push/ challenge myself. Reaching a summit or completing a challenging trail can give a satisfying sense of accomplishment. Each hike presents new trails, sights, and experiences, making every outing unique.
Camping gives me a chance to really zone out and just be at peace. I love the simplicity of it. More often than not I don't have cell service when I am out so that gives me a chance to really just focus in on me, no other distractions. I like to camp in a hammock, so long as the forecast looks clear, no shelter or anything. Just lying in my hammock, in the middle of nowhere, under the stars is quintessential.
Being Crafty!
My mom is the most creative person I know. She can take a bunch of scraps and turn them into a masterpiece! I have maybe 1/4 of the talent she does, but I still really enjoy it 🤗. I have been joining my mom for annual/ semi annual Craft Retreats since 2014. Our main one is Scrappy Chicks, which gets together twice a year, April and October, in Lubbock, TX. I started off making scrapbooks, I have done cross stitching, I learned to do Heat Press Vinyl T-shirt design in 2023 and in 2024 I built this website! People come from as far as Fort Worth to attend these retreats. Our 2 main hobbies at these retreats are sewing and scrapbooking, but you can pretty much work on whatever you want. It is just a great time to gather with friends and relax.
MUSIC!!!
Music is EVERYTHING! I am horrible at saying what I am trying to say. It always comes out wrong. Whatever you are trying to say, whatever problem you are going through, whatever mood you are in there is a song for that. I listen to everything from Sinatra to now. I am a lover not a fighter for sure so bring on the R&B slow jams, soul, rockish, bluesish, countryish feels 😍 These are my top artists and my top picks by them for the month as of 10/27/24
The Nerd Herd
When I am in CO I try and have a game day with the guys I went to college with. Most of our get togethers now are board games with the occasional console being added in. I am all about board games and puzzles. I leave the console stuff to the guys unless we bust out a Wii :). While we were in college and even for a while after we graduated we would go to Tinker Fridays. It was a time for us to work on anything that was of interest to us.
